For the sponsor of the Square Mile Watch Awards’ Heritage category, we wanted to partner with a company steeped in history yet remaining at the forefront of handmade craftsmanship. It needed to be a brand that had generations of continuity, and remained loyal to its origins.

We were thrilled when Ettinger came on board. Robert Ettinger has been running the business for nearly 30 years, having taken over from his father in 1990.

Today the company exports to more than 35 countries worldwide while maintaining and expanding its manufacturing base from its factory in Walsall, north west of Birmingham.

On the 85th anniversary year, Robert said: "The company has always hand-crafted a beautiful selection of leather gifts and accessories for men and women and for all areas of our lifestyles. I am delighted, therefore, to be launching our first ever watch roll which I am sure will be a very popular addition.”

The company has always hand-crafted a beautiful selection of leather gifts and accessories – and I am delighted to be launching our first ever watch roll

Designed to hold two watches securely, the new roll joins Ettinger's popular Lifestyle Collection which offers customers a wide range of gifts and travel accessories to choose from. Ideal for use at home, when travelling or as a gift for Christmas, the watch roll is suede lined, has a dividing ring to keep the watches separate and two monogrammed popper closures to allow for differing watch sizes.

It is available in a choice of seven colours, can be personalised on the outside with up to five initials, and retails for £275.

Naturally, Ettinger isn’t stopping there. For starters, there's an extended range of wallets, stationery and belts. And, perhaps more significantly, for the first time in its 85-year history, Ettinger is now offering customers the ability to create their very own bespoke accessories.

They can choose the outside leather style, colour and stitch colour, then the inside leather style, colour and stitch colour, as well as a choice of two Ettinger linings, and whether they want the Ettinger logo and the monogramming in silver, gold or blind emboss.

The finished product is then delivered from the Ettinger factory to the customer in six to eight weeks. This new service will be available in the Ettinger London Showroom, by appointment.
